Having nurtured the Hampshire "experiment" and watched it grow into a successful college, Mr. Johnson made further provisions in his estate plan to establish a permanent endowment. Mr. Johnson established a tradition of commitment to Hampshire College, and this tradition of extraordinary generosity is our foundation for the future.

The Board of Trustees established The Harold Johnson Society to recognize those individuals who want to help "secure" Hampshire's future with a planned gift.
